Shuya “Grace” Yang
Associate

Shuya “Grace” Yang comes from a first-generation immigrant family and has experienced firsthand the challenges of navigating the legal system, especially with a language barrier. While learning how to jump through various legal hurdles with no legal assistance, Grace first formed the notion that learning and understanding the law is a crucial part of protecting those she cared about. Upon graduation from college, Grace served in the United States Army, starting as a platoon leader responsible for her soldiers’ training, accountability, and well-being, and then ultimately moving up to the position of senior human resource manager for a battalion of 700 soldiers. Once again, Grace faced the challenging duty of guiding her soldiers through the military and civilian legal systems with a limited understanding of either system. From her time in the Army, Grace solidified her goal of attending law school to learn the law and help those in her charge.
In 2021, Grace hung up her uniform and attended Baylor Law School the following year. Grace focused her studies on intellectual property law and received her patent license with the United States Patent and Trademark Office during her second year in law school. Grace is licensed to practice in Texas, federal district courts, and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Grace is married to Bryant, a fellow officer in the unit where Grace served. During her free time, Grace enjoys outdoor activities, especially mountain biking and kayaking.
